In Part 1, Juanita shared how basketball prepared her for the unpredictable world of parenting twins. Today, she’s giving us a peek into life with double the joy (and double the chaos).
If you missed Part 1, read it here.
Q: Juanita, what’s the biggest challenge of raising twins?
"Time. There’s just never enough of it. They both need me at the same time, and sometimes it feels like I’m being pulled in two directions. But I’ve learned to give myself grace. I can’t do it all perfectly, and that’s okay."
This is such a powerful reminder for all parents, whether you’re juggling twins or one child.
We’re all doing the best we can, and that’s enough.
Q: How do you find balance in the chaos?
"I lean on my support system. My partner, my friends, even my old basketball crew, you all remind me I don’t have to do it alone. And I make time for small moments of self-care, even if it’s just five minutes to breathe."
It’s a lesson I’ve taken to heart, too. The community we build around us is everything, and asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
Q: What’s your favourite thing about being a mum of twins?
"The connection. Watching them interact with each other is magical. They have this built-in best friend, and it’s a joy to see their personalities shine in such different ways."
Hearing Juanita describe this is a reminder of the unique bonds we form and how we grow together, whether as siblings, parents, or teammates.
A heartfelt thank you to Juanita for sharing her journey with such openness and honesty. Her story is a beautiful reminder of the resilience, love, and teamwork that shape our lives, whether we’re navigating the challenges of parenting, chasing our passions, or simply showing up for the people we care about.
Juanita’s words and experiences inspire us all to embrace life’s chaos with grace and gratitude.
Stay tuned for our next Big Thrill Community update, where I’ll feature another incredible guest interview.

Speaking of parenting...
At Big Thrill, I’ve created something to make life a little easier for parents: our bamboo baby pants. They’re as flexible and adaptable as life with kids requires, and they grow with your little ones so you can focus on what matters most. See, Lonzo and Milu love them too!
